I know that she has taken courses for teaching - and it shows - and has also worked for language schools in Italy. We only speak in English, even when we are exchanging the last jokes at the door. 


    She usually prefers to use a textbook, but the lessons can be tailored according to the needs of the person in front of her. For example, when I can, I prepare texts in English which we then correct together or we base the lesson only on conversation. The books she uses are usually British English and as she is American she points out the differences for you (I find this very helpful).

    "Faccio lezione con Sophia da oltre due anni e il mio livello di inglese è sicuramente migliorato a livello sia scritto sia parlato. So che ha seguito  corsi per l'insegnamento - e si nota - e ha lavorato anche per scuole di lingua in Italia. Gli studenti con cui si interfaccia sono prevalentemente professionisti (manager, consulenti aziendali, avvocati, medici solo per farti qualche esempio), quindi se nello specifico cerchi un supporto per Business English ritengo sia in grado di soddisfarti. Con lei si parla solo in inglese anche quando fai l'ultimo scambio di batutte fino alla porta. 


    Solitamente preferisce utilizzare un libro di testo, ma le lezioni possono essere ritagliate in base alla necessità di chi le sta di fronte. Ad esempio, quando riesco, preparo dei testi in inglese che poi correggiamo insieme oppure basiamo la lezione solo sulla conversazione. I libri che utilizza sono solitamente di British English e, dato che lei è americana, ti evidenzia le differenze (io lo trovo molto utile). 


    Per quanto riguarda le disponibilità è molto flessibile: io faccio lezione la sera, ad esempio alle 20.00,  oppure il weekend. 


    Infine, un commento sulla persona: è molto solare e ti mette subito a tuo agio."
